IMMI as an interface between the Internet and the State


The Icelandic Modern Media Initiative set out many ambitious goals for the protection of free speech in the modern age. As information is increasingly becoming the fundamental currency of society, it’s worth looking into the state’s ability to protect human rights and identify its shortcomings. Smári McCarthy will provide a short overview of the IMMI project and outline some of the problems with national law in a networked environment.
